Hello there!
My name is Heidi and I'm a 4th year 7th Grade English teacher in VA. Since starting at a MUCH bigger and demanding school last year, I'm starting much earlier this summer in revamping what and how I did things last year. I stumbled across your blog through Pinterest searching for ideas. I am absolutely IN LOVE with the 40 book challenge. I know teaching middle school they are all in their little worlds and "hate reading." I did have a sign of relief when we read The Giver in class, and they loved it. When they saw the movie trailer they were so disappointed and I almost cried tears of joy when they said they like the book better.
Anyway, I was just wondering if there was anymore information about the 40 Book Challenge because I think it would be a great way to get my middle schoolers more involved with reading. We have the Battle of the Books at our school every year, and I don't want to be last again. :( So I figured that this would kill 2 birds with 1 stone.
Any information would be great and thanks so much for sharing this great idea!
