2012: Year in Review

Today, I'm linking up with Covered in Grace for my year in review.

Covered in Grace

What is the Year in Review? This year in blog posts…choose a favorite post from each month of 2012 and share.

You can also check out my favorite posts from the year and my most popular posts of the year while you're here.

January:
I didn't have a single post in January 2012. I was still just blogging more for family and friends so I didn't post that much. Instead, I'll share my last post of 2011. It recapped our Christmas doings last year.

February:
February was exciting because Lee turned 30 and I had a special surprise for him to countdown to his birthday.
March:
In March, I read a book that changed my perspective on a lot of things. This book challenged me to say "yes" to what God would have me to do. This book is part of the reason I expanded my blog beyond family and friends.

April:
I discovered this recipe for the most delicious cookies I've ever tasted. I have baked these too many times since finding this recipe and I've never found someone who didn't like them.

May:
I was in a completely random mood and wrote this completely random post. Then, I laughed so hard. What was I laughing at? You'll have to read it to find out.

June:
I can't write about June without mentioning that I went on my first international mission trip. You can read Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3 about that trip if you'd like. However, my favorite post from this month and actually my favorite post from the year is one I wrote in response to some things in popular culture that were really bothering me.

July:
July was exciting because Lee and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary and I wrote my 100th blog post. The post I want to share with you from that month, though, is where I introduced you to my sweet husband. He's awesome!

August:
In August, I got a Facebook page for my blog and hosted my first giveaway. I also won my first blogger award and completed my first guest post. The post I want to share with you is one that I wrote about the good things that were happening amongst a lot of bad. I was truly discovering the joy in finding things to be thankful for amongst a trial.

September:
During the month of September, I participated in Blog for Compassion month. I love being a part of Compassion International and sponsoring children. It is such a joy and I would encourage others to consider sponsoring a child of their own.

October:
In October, I kicked of Ornaments for Adoption and started taking sponsors. I also participated in my first swap-a scarf and scripture swap. I also discovered a fun Harry Potter link up. My favorite post from October would be the one where I introduced the idea of Ornaments for Adoption and I introduced the Brock family who the money would be going to help.

November:
November was filled with guest post, introducing sponsors, and giveaways. This post was challenging for me to write because I needed to hear it myself. Amongst all the "I'm thankful..." posts we all saw in the month of November, I wanted to challenge us to be thankful all year long even when it's hard.

December:
December was filled with spreading Christmas cheer. I hosted a 25 Days of Christmas link up where I wrote about something Christmas related for the first 25 days of December. My favorite one would probably be the one where I quoted scripture as a reminder for us all of what Christmas is really about.

2012 was a lot of fun! I've enjoyed expanding my blog and meeting some great people. I look forward to what 2013 has in store!
